Order Confirmation

All online and telephone orders received will be confirmed by e-mail from Black Mountains Smokery and you may also receive a second payment confirmation from Sage Pay or your bank.  If a confirmation is not received please check your junk and spam and add us to your safe senders. Also please check that we have your correct email address on file.

Overseas Customers & Deliveries

We deliver mainly within the UK only but are delighted to accept orders from overseas customers for delivery within the UK.

Sadly we are no longer able to quote for overseas delivery as the overnight services have become both expensive and unreliable.  Delivery to some UK offshore and remote postcodes (with delivery times greater than 2 days) is also no longer possible.


On the rare occasion of a product not being available, we reserve the right to substitute items of a similar or greater value but we will always endeavour to contact you first. If we need to part ship your order delivery charge on any extra shipments will be at our cost.


We accept payment by Visa and Mastercard. Payment is processed by our payment provider SagePay.

General Delivery

You can order in advance and select your delivery date.  Certain products are produced to order and must therefore be ordered further in advance than others e.g. our outdoor-reared hams. Orders can normally be dispatched within 3 working days (Monday to Wednesday) of receipt of your order on a standard next-day delivery service. Saturday to Monday deliveries are excluded to ensure that your order is delivered within the working week.

Please note we are closed on all UK Bank Holidays and all UK Public Holidays.

Please note orders for Christmas delivery should be ordered as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.  Christmas delivery slots are allocated first come first served.


Orders for the weekend will be dispatched on Wednesday or Thursday for delivery Thursday/ Friday. Orders required for delivery on a Monday will be sent to arrive in time for the weekend prior to it. UK Bank Holidays & Public Holidays and days each side of them will be excluded for delivery.

Delivery Arrangements

Please use the postcode look-up to input your delivery address. If you have a problem finding their correct address please phone us. I’m afraid we cannot be liable for parcels misdelivered due to incorrect postcode and address details.

Where possible, please use a delivery address where goods can be signed for. At checkout you will be asked to include your recipient’s mobile telephone number for courier alerts and updates and any delivery instructions.  Parcels can be left in a safe place if the recipient is out, but we would strongly advise you to alert recipients of gifts to keep a lookout for their delivery. Black Mountains Smokery cannot be held liable for perished goods if the recipient is away and not able to find their parcel in good time.

Our couriers, DPD, will send mobile notifications on the day of delivery giving a 2 hour delivery window. They will also send a proof of delivery and image of where a parcel is left.  Please check and make sure that you recognise this place.

This information is also emailed to the billing email address so please keep a look out.

Christmas Deliveries

We make special arrangements to cope with the Christmas demand; please refer to the delivery page for up-to-date information on our deliveries, especially our last orders and delivery dates for Christmas. Delivery on a specific day during this period cannot be guaranteed.

New Year Orders

Orders for the New Year period must be dispatched prior to Christmas. Please see notes above. The first delivery after the New Year will be the second week of January at the earliest when we have been able to produce fresh stock after the holiday period.

Alterations & Cancellations

We can accept alterations to an order by e-mail or phone if it has not already been packed ready for dispatch.  Please note that at Christmas time all parcels are packed in advance.


Occasionally some packages can be delayed or even undelivered by the courier. Please contact us as soon as you have any concerns about your parcel, the quicker we know the better. Black Mountains Smokery cannot be held responsible for parcels that are undelivered or mis-routed due to incorrect addresses given by the customer.

Please tell us why you are not satisfied. If we agree, we will do all we can to improve and we will be happy to make you a refund for the value of the goods with a deduction for postal charges.
