Gremillet Champagne, a family-owned house, was established in 1979 when Jean-Michel Gremillet inherited vineyards from his mother, Lulu. The estate, located in the southern part of the Champagne region near Les Riceys, focuses on Pinot Noir, which thrives in the local Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils. They prioritize sustainable practices and strive to express the unique character of their terroir in their wines.

Tasting notes

To observe

A pretty pale golden yellow in color rippling with fine, persistent bubbles. Bright, luminous and delicious.

To breath

The nose evokes happiness – a lively alliance of deliciousfloral and fruity notes, of acacia, hawthorn, peach, pear and apricot

To appreciate

The taste is pleasant and refreshing with a nice balance of acidity and maturity. The same fruit components and deliciousness of the nose are found again on the palate, with toasted and spiced notes.

On a more serious note, the reason the champagne has so much depth is because it is matured in the bottle for three years. By law in France, Champagne has to be matured in the bottle for 18 months and it is unusual, at this price point, to have this attention to detail. Pale gold in colour, with floral notes on the nose and citrus fruit and biscuit flavours on the palate. Stunning."
