Laverbread is a welsh delicacy produced from an edible seaweed, which grows on our rocky coast lines. Cooked with sea salt and canned for freshness.

Rich in Iron and Iodine, it is traditionally eaten fried with porridge oats and served with eggs and bacon. We love it as part of a smoked salmon blini or, for the more adventurous, a laverbread souffle.

Laverbread it tastes like spinach of the sea. I like to fold it into batter for blinis, savoury scones and pancakes.

This is really delicious in a pancake with bacon for breakfast.
